What are Unit Tags?

Unit Tags are parts of the unit metadata that tell the Unit renderer to show an icon (and potentially a toolitp) instead of just plain text.

For example, this Jade has a special power which grants the Mystics team ability to other characters with the Green Lantern Corps keyword. Instead of saying "Mystics", HCUnits renders the icon. The underlying metadata which enables this looks like [ta:mystics].

That's a Unit Tag.

How do I search for Unit Tags?

Since Unit Tags are stored in the metadata, you can use them in Advanced Search to find units where they are used. First, find the particular Unit Tag syntax that corresponds to what you're looking for in the associated help articles. Then navigate to the Advanced Search tab in the units browser, and choose "Special Power or Trait". Copy the Unit Tag into the text box and run the search. Voila!

How do I add Unit Tags to my Custom Units?

In the Custom Unit builder, simply create a new Special Power and in the body of the text, use the Unit Tag to refer to the particular tag you want!
